Pappu Bardhan

Artist

(b. 1975, Kolkata) is a contemporary Indian painter whose practice is deeply concerned with the fragile relationship between humanity and the natural environment. His work reflects a sustained sensitivity towards ecological change and the ways in which human intervention reshapes the world around us.

Working primarily with watercolour on paper, Bardhan creates atmospheric compositions that explore the beauty and vulnerability of nature. His approach combines delicacy with environmental awareness, allowing the landscape to become both a subject of contemplation and a reminder of the need for preservation.

Bardhan completed his Bachelor of Visual Arts in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University before moving to Gujarat, where he earned his MFA in Graphics from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 2001. He continues to live and work in Baroda.

His work offers a quiet reflection on nature, fragility, ecological responsibility, and the delicate balance between human life and the environment.
