(b. 1979, West Bengal) is a contemporary Indian artist whose practice explores the relationship between landscape, habitation and memory. His paintings and mixed-media works draw upon rural, urban and suburban environments, reflecting both his childhood memories of Bengal and his later experiences of living in Hyderabad. Nature and built spaces often coexist within his compositions, creating layered impressions of place.
Chowdhury completed his BFA from Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan, and MFA in Printmaking from the University of Hyderabad. Working across painting, printmaking and sculpture. His practice continues to examine how landscapes evolve and how personal memory transforms our perception of the places we inhabit.
