is a contemporary Indian artist known for his expressive and imaginative portrayals of animals. Bulls, goats, roosters, rabbits and fish appear repeatedly in his works, often taking on human-like qualities and becoming vehicles for exploring emotion, behaviour and social relationships. His vibrant compositions combine colour, texture and mixed-media elements to create a distinctive visual world.
Kurva completed his BFA in Painting from JNTU, Hyderabad, followed by an MFA in Graphics from M.S. University, Baroda. His practice brings together painting and graphic sensibilities, allowing texture and mark-making to play an important role in his compositions. Through familiar animals and playful forms, he creates works that are simultaneously engaging, symbolic and reflective.
