Shyam Karri

(b. 1990, Visakhapatnam) is a contemporary Indian artist whose practice is rooted in the expressive possibilities of watercolour. Growing up amidst the seashore, paddy fields and rich biodiversity of Visakhapatnam, he developed an early sensitivity towards the subtle beauty of everyday life. His paintings are characterised by fluid washes, open spaces and a restrained visual language that allows emotion to emerge through simplicity.

Karri approaches watercolour not merely as a medium but as a way of observing life—its movement, stillness and fleeting moments.
