Ramesh Gorjala

Artist

(b. 1979, Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh) is a contemporary Indian artist whose practice draws deeply from the traditional art of Kalamkari and Indian mythology. His richly detailed compositions bring figures such as Krishna, Vishnu and Hanuman to life, often incorporating multiple narratives within a single form. Earthy reds, greens, golds and intricate line work give his paintings a distinctive visual language that bridges tradition and contemporary expression.

Gorjala studied Painting at JNTU, Hyderabad, and later developed his practice from traditional vegetable dyes to acrylic. His work has received the Mahatma Gandhi Birth Centenary Memorial Award from V.T.I., Chennai, and the State Award from the A.P. Crafts Council in 2002.
