Rakhee Shenoy

Artist

(b. 1994) is a Bangalore-based textile and mixed-media artist whose practice explores memory, materiality, human connection, and the tactile possibilities of contemporary textile art. Growing up in a family deeply connected to the arts, Shenoy developed an early sensitivity towards materials, making, and visual storytelling.

Her practice brings together handloom weaving, embroidery, painting, digital drawing, and print, creating richly layered works that occupy a space between textile, painting, and contemporary craft. Rather than treating fabric simply as a surface, she approaches it as a living material capable of carrying memory, texture, colour, and narrative.

Shenoy studied at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology before completing her Master’s at the Royal College of Art, London. Her practice continues to expand the possibilities of textile as contemporary art, creating a poetic language where material, memory, craftsmanship, and human connection are woven together.
