Priyanka Aelay

(b. 1990, Hyderabad) is a contemporary Indian artist whose practice combines the visual richness of Telangana’s folk traditions with elements of miniature painting and contemporary imagination. Her works create dreamlike worlds inhabited by birds, animals, trees, flowers, and fantastical forms.

Working primarily in acrylic, Aelay creates richly detailed compositions in which traditional motifs are transformed into fluid and imaginative landscapes. Her distinctive manipulation of space and perspective allows forms to float and merge, creating an atmosphere that feels simultaneously familiar and otherworldly. 

She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Hyderabad Central University and a PhD in Film Studies and Visual Culture from the English and Foreign Languages University. Aelay’s work unfolds as an imaginative dialogue between nature, folklore, memory, identity, and the limitless possibilities of visual storytelling.
