Prashanta Nayak

Artist

(b. 1980, Agra) is a contemporary Indian artist whose paintings bring together illusion, landscape, nature, and decorative richness. His compositions often feature cityscapes, birds, flowers, and architectural elements rendered through luminous colour and intricate surface treatment.

Nayak is particularly recognised for incorporating 24-karat gold leaf with vibrant acrylics, creating a distinctive visual dialogue between brilliance, texture, and form. His works possess an ornamental quality while retaining a strong sense of spatial atmosphere.

He completed his art education at the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Calcutta, where he received a Gold Medal. His paintings bring together light, ornamentation, nature, and imagination, creating compositions that are both visually sumptuous and quietly contemplative.
