Madhuri Bhaduri

Artist

(b. 1958, Pune) is a contemporary Indian artist whose practice has evolved over more than four decades, moving fluidly between abstraction, landscape, figurative painting, and sculptural experimentation. Her artistic journey is marked by a continual search for new visual possibilities and an enduring sensitivity towards colour, atmosphere, and emotion.

Working predominantly in oils, Bhaduri creates paintings that often explore the relationship between colour and inner experience. Her practice has expanded over time to include digital art, resin, sculpture, scrap metal, and murals, reflecting her willingness to move beyond conventional boundaries.

She studied at Fergusson College, Pune, pursued French studies at Alliance Française, and later completed her Master’s in Art and Painting from SNDT University, Mumbai. Since her early exhibitions in the 1980s, she has presented her work extensively in India and abroad and has received numerous recognitions for her contribution to the arts.

Across her evolving practice, Bhaduri continues to explore colour as emotion, abstraction as experience, and painting as a language of inner reflection.
