(b. 1998, Haryana) is a contemporary Indian artist based in Delhi whose practice centres on the lives and experiences of ordinary people. Influenced by rural traditions and the realities of contemporary India, his work observes hawkers, labourers, street vendors, and working-class communities with empathy and quiet attentiveness.
Working primarily with acrylic and ink on paper and canvas, Anant combines realism with a contemporary visual language. His figures often emerge from seemingly simple everyday situations, transforming familiar encounters into reflections on labour, dignity, resilience, and social realities. His distinctive use of 22-carat gold foil in certain bodies of work creates a compelling contrast between the humble lives of his subjects and the visual richness surrounding them.
Anant completed his BFA from the College of Art, Delhi, and has participated in numerous exhibitions across India and internationally. His evolving practice continues to give visibility to the overlooked narratives of everyday India, transforming ordinary lives into subjects of dignity, beauty, and significance.
