Ganesh Dodamani (b. 1974, Ramdurg, Karnataka) is a contemporary Indian artist whose practice is shaped by a sensitive observation of landscape, atmosphere and the rhythms of the natural world. His paintings occupy a space between representation and abstraction, where a landscape becomes less a specific location and more an impression of light, colour and memory.
Through layered surfaces, shifting tonalities and expressive marks, Dodamani transforms elements of nature into compositions that are atmospheric rather than descriptive. His work is distinguished by a quiet balance between structure and spontaneity, allowing the emotional character of a place to emerge gradually.
He studied at the College of Visual Art, Gulbarga, completing his B.F.A., before pursuing an M.F.A. in Graphic Art from Kala Bhavan, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. This grounding in both visual art and graphic practice has informed his sensitivity towards line, texture and composition.
