(b. 1973, Pune, Maharashtra) is a contemporary Indian painter whose imagery is animated by the strength and vitality of the animal form. Horses and bulls occupy a central position in his work, becoming expressive vehicles through which he considers movement, freedom, power, companionship, and desire.
His Ashwa Chitramala series established the horse as a recurring presence, while later works introduced the bull as a symbol of strength and determination. In Lust for Love, pairs of horses shift the imagery towards intimacy and companionship. Across these bodies of work, the animals are transformed into dynamic forms within carefully constructed geometric compositions. Jadhav works primarily in acrylic, creating surfaces that possess an almost crayon-like quality through blocks of colour, angular forms, and sharply defined lines. Strong contrasts and rhythmic geometric structures give his simplified figures a sense of movement, while his use of colour brings energy and immediacy to the compositions.
