(b. 1974, Kolkata) is a modern Indian painter whose quiet artwork explores personal memories, old stories, and how time passes. Based in Kolkata, his paintings focus on everyday human interactions and deep feelings rather than public or political statements.
His paintings feature soft, hazy scenes of people, historic buildings, and natural elements like birds and butterflies. Working primarily with tempera paints, he avoids bright or harsh colors, preferring smooth, single-color shades that make his artwork look aged and thoughtful. A unique part of his work is that he creates his own custom frames using wood, bronze, and brass to match the antique feel of each painting.
Dutta completed his formal art education at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Painting. Early in his career, his work earned him recognition from the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Kolkata.
With a career spanning three decades, his artwork has been showcased in popular solo exhibitions and major events like the India Art Fair. His paintings are highly valued by art collectors and have been featured in unique historical displays.
